Dr. Joey Arencibia
Dr. Joey Arencibia was raised in Cedartown, Georgia. He is a graduate of Young Harris College, located in northeast Georgia, where he was also a member of the intercollegiate tennis team. He attended the University of Georgia, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology degree and later attended the Southern College of Optometry receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree. While earning his optometry degree, Dr. Arencibia was honored as Outstanding Senior Clinician as well as graduating with the recognition Cum Laude.
Dr. Arencibia has been practicing optometry for over twenty-five years. He has served as the Executive and Clinical Director of TLC Atlanta, which at the time was one of the largest laser vision correction centers throughout the United States. Here he co-managed over eight thousand Lasik patients. He has held lectures in the southeastern part of the United States concerning laser eye surgery. Dr. Arencibia has served as President of the Toccoa Lion’s Club and was voted Lion of the Year in 1992. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.
Dr. Arencibia and his wife, Ann, have been married for thirty years and have four children. They are residing in Hiawassee, Georgia where Dr. Arencibia has established a state of the art facility, Georgia Vision Center, and has committed himself to providing the highest quality of eye care possible.
Angel, Senior Medical Assistant
Angel is our longest tenured employee, she has been with Georgia Vision Center since 2006. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPOA). Angel has resided in the North Georgia Mountain area for over 16 years.
Sally joined the staff in 2015. She has enjoyed a career as a litigation paralegal and Police Department Criminal Investigations secretary. Now she enjoys a more peaceful life style in the mountains surrounded by flowers and friends. Give her a call to schedule your next appointment.
Marta, Office Manager
Marta has joined the practice in 2014. She brings over 30 years experience in office management from the Dental industry in Florida. She is well versed in billing procedures, product inventory and selection.
Pam, Lead Optician
Pam brings a world of knowledge from her prior assignment in Atlanta, GA. She has been in the Optical industry over 30 years and with Georgia Vision Center since 2014. She is certified by the American Board of Optometry (ABO), National Contact Lens Certification (NCLE) and Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO). Pam has moved to the North Georgia Mountain area in 2014.
Mark, Optician Support
Mark is a long time resident of the North Georgia Mountains with over 18 years in the area. He has been with Georgia Vision Center since 2014 and brings much technical experience to the practice.
Ann, Patient Billing/Inventory Specialist
Ann joined Georgia Vision Center in 2010 after an extended period of time with the School System in Tennessee and Georgia. Ann holds an Associate Degree from Young Harris College and a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Georgia. She has resided in the North Georgia Area since 2000.
Krista, Optical Assistant
Krista is a native to Hiawassee and joined Georgia Vision Center in 2015. Krista has over 8 years of retail experience and several years of managerial experience. She brings her customer service skills and her passion for others into the practice.
David joined the Georgia Vision Center staff in 2017 after spending the last 22 years as a Field Manager with a leading optical retailer. David is a Licensed Dispensing Optician with over 40 years in the optical industry. David and his wife moved to the North Georgia Mountains in 2015.
Dawn joined Georgia Vision Center in 2016. She has been in the optical industry for over 15 years and is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPAO). Dawn brings a multitude of experience to the optical and medical teams.
